When You’re Just Not Feeling It
There are days when you’re just not feeling it. I get it. I experience those days too. Nothing is really bringing you joy, you feel unmotivated and overall tired.
What I have discovered is when these days present themselves, the best thing I’ve found to do is jump into a bit of reflecting or revisiting the past. What I mean by that, is I head to my storage area and begin to open up bins from long ago. They may include papers, flyers, cards, books etc. that are from another season in my life. Prior job or when I was in school. Reading through these, scanning the photos, remembering the moments is a great exercise in realizing just how far you’ve come and that you aren’t done yet.
It provides you with an opportunity to just be still and sit with the changes that have occurred over the course of your life thus far. It’s a time to think about what you’ve learned and how you apply that to what you do now. It also provides you with the space to envision where you could go next. With your skills, abilities and passions, what’s a pathway that you haven’t researched or even considered?
I encourage you to take the time when you find the time to review your timeline, examine various points along the way and then be open to the possibilities.
